24K Magic drum sheet music – a note-for-note accurate transcription of the drum part on Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic”, from the album 24K Magic (2016). The whole groove is written out from the original recording in a clean, print-ready PDF.

About 24K Magic drum sheet music

“24K Magic” is the title track of Bruno Mars’ 2016 album, which won the Grammy for Album of the Year. The song itself won Record of the Year and is inspired by late-’80s and early-’90s funk and R&B.

The groove is funky and modern, transcribed from the original programmed drum part. It is perfect for recreating a tight, electronic-style pocket on a real kit – with precise placement and a strong feel.

A drum transcription taken from the original recording

Every bar of this 24K Magic drum transcription comes from the original recording. Instead of an approximate groove with a couple of fills, you get the whole drum part – so if you need 24K Magic drum notes that sound like the record when you play them, this is the version to use.

The sheet music is professionally engraved and easy to read on a music stand or on a tablet. Each part of the song is clearly labelled, and repeats with first- and second-time endings keep the layout compact, so you spend less time turning pages and more time playing.

How to practise 24K Magic on drums

Here is a practice plan that works well for 24K Magic:

1. Listen with the sheet music. Get the groove in your head.
2. Practise with a metronome. Programmed grooves need precise time.
3. Keep the dynamics even. Aim for consistent volume.
4. Find the pocket. Lock the kick with the bass.
5. Play with the record. Match the feel of the track.
6. Record yourself. Compare your timing with the record.

Why note-for-note sheet music?

Learning 24K Magic by ear or from a free tab usually means guessing the details – which fill goes where, what the hi-hat is doing, how a section ends. Accurate sheet music takes the guesswork out: the rhythms are exact, the song structure is clear, and you can focus on playing instead of decoding.

Who is this sheet music for?

24K Magic drum sheet music suits intermediate drummers who love funk and R&B, and function and cover bands.
