About Foo Fighters
Foo Fighters began in 1994 as a solo project by Dave Grohl after the end of Nirvana – he recorded the first album playing almost every instrument himself. The project grew into one of the most successful rock bands of the last 30 years, with albums such as The Colour and the Shape, One by One and Wasting Light and many Grammy Awards.
Taylor Hawkins joined in 1997 and was the band’s drummer until his death in 2022. With a former drummer as the frontman, Foo Fighters songs always have strong, memorable drum parts – which is why they are so popular with drummers.
Drumming on Foo Fighters songs
Taylor Hawkins and Dave Grohl gave Foo Fighters some of the most energetic drum parts in modern rock. Expect driving eighth notes, big open hi-hat choruses, powerful fills and songs that build from quiet intros into full intensity. They are great for building stamina, power and confidence behind the kit.
